From 1st March 2019, the period allowed in England and Northern Ireland for filing a Stamp Duty Land Tax return and paying the tax reduces from 30 days to 14 days.

In the 2015 Autumn Statement the Government brought in the higher rate of stamp duty for purchases of ‘additional residential properties’ which came into effect on 1st April 2016.
