A new criminal injury investigation into the deaths of hundreds of patients who were given powerful painkillers at Gosport War Memorial Hospital has been launched. The inquiry will examine the care provided to patients at the Hampshire Hospital who died between 1987 and 2001.

It was recently reported by BBC’s Inside Out West Midlands that Mr Hussien El-Maghraby, a local Consultant Neurosurgeon, who is employed by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, has been stopped from performing two different surgical procedures pending further training and mentorship, following a Royal College of Surgeons inspection.
