Are you at a higher risk of developing breast cancer?

Most people don’t have serious long term effects from radiotherapy. But because Hodgkin lymphoma treatment is so successful and people are living a long time after treatment, doctors are beginning to see problems emerging many years later.
Research has found that women treated for Hodgkin lymphoma with radiotherapy when they were under 30 years of age have an increased risk of developing another cancer later in life. The highest risk is the possible development of breast cancer approximately 10 years later. This is caused by radiotherapy to the chest area.

Additional victims of rogue breast surgeon Ian Paterson are invited to seek compensation

Patients who suffered at the hands of jailed breast surgeon Ian Paterson are being invited to seek compensation for their experiences. Paterson is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of 17 counts of wounding with intent and three counts of unlawful wounding against ten patients. He carried out a vast number of unnecessary or incomplete breast operations and also misdiagnosed breast cancer.
