Alsters Kelley Solicitors are proud to announce the qualification of Alex Butler in their Private Family Department as a Solicitor.
Alex joined the firm in January 2024 and qualified as a solicitor via the new Solicitors Qualifying Examinations route (‘SQE’) earlier this year.
Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and then went on to qualify via the SQE route.
The new qualifying route was introduced in 2021 and has replaced the previous Legal Practice Course (LPC). The new process is compiled of two qualifying exams – SQE1 and SQE2, with the requirement of two further years qualifying legal experience. SQE1 focusses on functioning legal knowledge, whereas SQE2 focusses on practical legal skills and knowledge.
Alex received the good news in April 2024 after taking his first SQE exam in July 2023 and passing with top marks.
During the last few months, as well as assisting the other lawyers in the team Alex has been building up his own case load, primarily focussing on the Legal Aid work the family team deal with.
