Hundreds of patients recalled in West Midlands over concerns about orthopaedic surgeon Dr Shah

The news last night featured another case of medical negligence, this time at The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and Spire Little Aston Hospital, both of which are in the West Midlands.
Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Mian Munawar Shah has been suspended and hundreds of his former patients between 2010 and 2018 have recently been contacted. This follows several complaints of botched shoulder operations, which have caused some people to lose use of their arms completely, whilst others have been living in constant pain since being operated on by Dr Shah.

Ian Paterson – one of the biggest medical scandals in the UK continues to rumble on

Last night, (12th June) ITV aired “Bodies of Evidence: The Butcher Surgeon,” did you manage to watch it? This exposure documentary focused on Ian Paterson, the disgraced breast surgeon who carried out thousands of needless and damaging operations and years of unnecessary scans, check-ups, and other appointments. And if those patients were from an affluent postcode, he always encouraged the private option.

Additional victims of rogue breast surgeon Ian Paterson are invited to seek compensation

Patients who suffered at the hands of jailed breast surgeon Ian Paterson are being invited to seek compensation for their experiences. Paterson is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of 17 counts of wounding with intent and three counts of unlawful wounding against ten patients. He carried out a vast number of unnecessary or incomplete breast operations and also misdiagnosed breast cancer.
