A large firm of solicitors operating in Leamington, Coventry and Nuneaton, has renewed its sponsorship of a Warwickshire ladies’ professional development organisation for a third year.
Alsters Kelley LLP has renewed its headline sponsorship of LadiesFirst Professional Development, an all-inclusive network aimed at businesswomen across the region.
The business was launched in January 2014 by lifelong friends Lisa Kennedy and Julie Richardson to provide an all-inclusive platform for women’s professional development.
The organisation has attracted over 600 business women to events throughout 2015 – a figure they are looking to build on in 2016. In addition they have raised over £4,000 for two local charities.
Erica Kemp, Head of Family Law and Member at Alsters Kelley, an LLP, says: “We firmly believe that women need to be given the confidence to go out into the world and make a difference and that is our main motivation in continuing to support LadiesFirst.
“Here at Alsters Kelley LLP, 75 per cent of my colleagues across the three offices are women – and three of the owners of the business are also women.
“We do not operate positive discrimination in favour of women. That would be self-defeating and against my principles.
“However, it’s vital that women are empowered to be confident in what they do. After all we are all individuals and I believe that people’s personalities should be allowed to come out and flourish. Our decision to continue to sponsor Ladies First is to build on the relationships established and to reinforce our ethos around helping women to achieve their potential.”
Julie Richardson said: “We are delighted to have secured the sponsorship from Alsters Kelley for a third year. They share our vision to support women in business. Their continued support will help us to deliver another year of exciting events for our members attracting a high calibre of speaker.”
Julie added: “Our mission was to make LadiesFirst events all-inclusive and meaningful. Our members have made some excellent contacts during our first couple of years which has resulted in a lot of business being done as well as providing a platform for continuous learning and self-development.”
