Over recent years, the personal injury sector in the UK has seen significant changes.
In the last few weeks personal injury heavyweights Shoosmiths made the decision to sell their personal injury arm to Fletchers Group.
The sale will see Fletchers become one of the largest clinical negligence and personal injury practices in the UK. It has grown massively since it was bought by Sun European Partners LLP in 2021. The growth has largely been due to their acquisition of seven firms in the past three years.
As part of the Shoosmiths acquisition, private equity-backed Fletchers will take on an extra 80 staff, eight partners, and approximately 900 clients, including 20 high-value cases, which have been estimated to be worth at least £20m. To aid a smooth transition for clients, and as part of the acquisition, Fletchers will have new bases in Birmingham, Thames Valley, and Northampton.
According to a Shoosmiths representative the sale reflects their intention “to sharpen its strategic focus on Corporate, Real Estate, and Litigation, and to further invest in priority sectors like Technology, Financial Services, and Energy.”
Personal injury needs a personal service
Head of Personal Injury Rachael Flanagan at Alsters Kelley says “Personal injury is one area of the law, where clients particularly need the personal attention, expertise and guidance of a solicitor to protect their legal rights, manage complex legal procedures, avoid costly mistakes and ensure fair compensation. If you were a client of Shoosmiths but would like to talk to a local trusted solicitor then we would be very happy to have a chat.”
Accessible, caring and sensitive
Rachael continues. “At Alsters Kelley, our approach is personal, sensitive, and caring. We put our clients at the heart of everything we do. With years of experience, we aim to minimise the impact of the process and secure the compensation you may be entitled to. Our personal injury team can help you and understand how the trauma of being in an accident or suffering an injury can be devastating physically, emotionally, and financially not just you, but your loved ones too.”
