Leamington solicitors give ‘Dress down’ donation to Castel Froma

Coventry & Warwickshire law firm Alsters Kelley LLP recently presented Castel Froma care centre with a cheque for £1,537.24. The money has been raised from the firm’s monthly ‘dress down’ days where staff make a donation to dress informally on one Friday every month.

Castel Froma, which is based in Leamington Spa, helps people who have acquired brain injury or neurological conditions to live a fuller life and provides facilities for up to 57 residents.

Emma Thrussell, Business Manager from Castel Froma said, “We really appreciate the donation from the staff at Alsters Kelley solicitors. Many of our residents are faced with problems that need 24 hour nursing care but we also try to provide our residents with opportunities to participate in meaningful therapeutic activities and holistic therapies to help improve self-esteem and wellbeing, such as cooking, gardening aromatherapy and reflexology.

This donation will be used specifically to purchase a height adjustable table to be used in conjunction with our Sensory Guru Magic Carpet interactive projection system. The interactive images projected by the equipment are customised to meet a variety of individual therapeutic needs and images such as the fishpond and field of poppies and respond to the slightest movements. At present when the images are projected on a standard height table, the residents in larger wheelchairs have difficulty accessing the images. The new table, kindly donated by Alsters Kelley LLP, will enable more residents to fully participate in Magic Carpet activity sessions.”

Catherine Wahlberg, Operations & Finance Member at Alsters Kelley LLP said, “Castel Froma & Helen Ley was chosen by our staff as our charity of the year for 2016. They do such an amazing job caring for people and their families from all over the country and we are thrilled that our donation has gone a little way to help with some of their additional therapies.”
