Local Solicitor joins legal elite

Haidee Vedy, of Coventry and Warwickshire law firm Alsters Kelley, has been appointed to one of the country’s most prestigious legal panels at The Law Society.

The endorsement is only given to individuals who meet the highest standards of technical expertise and client service in their specific area of law.

Panel membership means Haidee is accepted to The Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme, her particular area of expertise.

The purpose of the scheme is to promote high standards and ensure that clients are easily able to identify legal specialists with proven high level of competency and expertise following rigorous and independent testing by The Law Society, which is the representative body for solicitors in England and Wales.

Haidee, who joined Alsters Kelley in 1994, said: “I’m really pleased to have been appointed to the scheme. The process was very intensive, so this is wonderful recognition not just for me but for the rest of our medical negligence team too.”

The range of medical negligence experience Haidee has includes birth injuries and post-natal complications including cerebral palsy, to delay in diagnosis of cancer and other serious conditions resulting in long-term disability or premature death and negligently performed surgery.

She was also involved in some of the claims arising out of unnecessary procedures and cleavage sparing mastectomies performed by the former breast surgeon, Ian Paterson.

Haidee will be a member of the scheme until June 2021, after which she will have to reapply for accreditation.

Catherine Wahlberg, Operations and Finance Member at Alsters Kelley, said: “We are extremely proud of Haidee and her appointment to the elite Clinical Negligence Panel.

“It is not a straightforward process, those selected must have successfully conducted a significant number of serious and complex cases and this Panel membership demonstrates superior and a specialist in-depth level of legal experience and knowledge.”
