Adrian Bannister
Role:Senior Solicitor, Children and Families Public Law Department
Speciality: Family Law, Public Law (Care Proceedings - matters involving Social Services)
Phone: 02477 710021 or 07917 082940

Adrian's role is to advise, assist and represent clients in matters involving the intervention of Social Services or the Local Authority in their family lives. Adrian has a vast amount of experience and knowledge in this area of law and uses this to guide people through what is often a very traumatic and difficult period in their life.

Adrian has gained considerable experience in all facets of Public Law matters ranging from formal 'out of court' meetings and conferences involving the Social Services and / or the Local Authority through to formal court proceedings at all levels. He has been accredited with the Law Society now for some years to represent Children as well as parents in such matters.

Adrian is particularly proud of the relationships he establishes with clients. This helps him to safeguard his clients’ best interests speedily and amicably. A recent highlight was representation of a mother in Care proceedings where removal of child from her care was successfully resisted. This was despite the fact that mother (and co-parent father) had their own significant learning difficulties. The matter had to be dealt with very sensitively as the child was also presenting with her own academic limitations and developmental delay. A successful outcome was achieved despite strenuous opposition from the Local Authority. Progress of the case involved the commissioning of external expert opinion(s) to promote the mother’s arguments before the court.

Adrian enjoys a variety of hobbies including golf, motorcycling, music and travel. He also enjoys spending family time with his own four children who are all now living independently in various parts of the country.
