Jas joined Alsters Kelley in 2006 and was appointed Associate Solicitor with the firm in June 2007 and is also Head of the Criminal Litigation & Motoring Offences Department.
Jas Thiara is a Solicitor with a wide range of experience in providing advice and representation to both corporate and individual clients. Jas is a member of the Law Society Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme. Jas has over 17 years experience in representing clients who are being investigated or prosecuted.
Experience
Jas qualified as a lawyer in 2001 and obtained her Higher Rights qualification in 2012. She has been representing clients in relation to a wide range of matters including breaches of food safety regulations, professional conduct matters, motoring offences and criminal defence work.
She also has experience in representing vulnerable clients with mental health and learning difficulties. As a result of her community work she has been appointed as a Trustee (Vice Chair) for Bedworth Rugby and Nuneaton Citizen Advice Bureau (BRANCAB).
Jas is passionate about making sure Lawyers are accessible to all and to those most vulnerable in society.
Career
As a keen Advocate Jas demonstrates an ideal tone to deal with committees, Judges, Magistrates and tribunals. Jas is an outstanding cross examiner, persuasive speaker, skilled tactician and a highly versatile lawyer. She takes particular pride in giving attention to client’s individual needs in the most sensitive of cases. Prosecuting as well as defending has given Jas the added advantage of seeing both sides of the coin.
Hobbies
Jas enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys travelling to explore the world and experience diverse cultures.
