What we do:
We are one of the leading practices in the country for the development of health centres for GPs, and if not acting for the doctors themselves are frequently
instructed by the finance providers for the developments.
We are currently working on over 30 developments of multi discipline health centres for Doctors, dentists and pharmacists.
As can be seen from our list of current projects, our deal list stretches from Bradford in the North to Brighton in the South.
We utilise a strategy which can both protect the GP’s from personal liability and yet obtain secure 100% funding (in most cases) for the development.
Our ongoing aggregate deal value exceeds £65 million.
How we do it:
As well as using our in-house commercial property and corporate expertise, we have access to a network of similar specialists including site finders, VAT experts, funding institutions and developers.
Once the development has received PCT approval we create corporate vehicles for the participants from whichever medical profession with tailor-made share structures to reflect the varying degrees of involvement of each professional.
The future for multi-disciplinary centres
It is Lord Darzi’s intention to see health care delivered through high tech medical centres (see his statement dated 4th October 2007). An increasing number of commercially minded GPs are already moving in that direction and we are available to assist them.

Strengthening Our Team:
We are pleased to announce that we have recently strengthened the health sector team with the addition of Andrew Watts (formally of Shakespeare Putsman)
who has extensive experience within this specialised sector, especially on behalf of those providing development finance.
Practice Partnership Agreements
Whether GMS or PMS practices we revise existing partnership agreements or create new agreements to take account of the increasing numbers of GP’s working flexible hours, or taking sabbaticals or having to take maternity/paternity leave of absence.
The involvement of professional management structures and thus the participation of “non-qualified” partners can also be catered for, as can the creation of limited companies, if a partnership is not the preferred operational medium.
Pharmacies
We act on behalf of a number of pharmacists whether sole traders or larger groupings. Amongst our clients is one of the larger retail pharmacies in the country with over 50 outlets, as well as joint ventures within Health centres.
Whether it’s acquisition or disposal, by means of a share sale or assets alone, we have a long-standing expertise which enables us to identify and deal with the key issues quickly and thus avoiding difficulties before they arise.
Care Homes
With governance and regulatory compliance making it increasingly difficult for the sole proprietor to maintain profitability, we are increasingly engaged in the acquisition of care homes on behalf of expanding operators anxious to maximise the advantages of scale.
As well as dealing the sale or purchase of care homes we also have contacts in the accountancy and property sectors available to help when needed.
